To make a booking check availability and then contact us with your request using the button above. Alternatively email enquiries@jacks-cottage.co.uk or call us on 01335 342188 or 07800 969501 and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.
The legal requirement to self isolate following a positive test ended on Thursday 24th February 2022. However, if testing positive, the current advice is to stay at home and we therefore ask our guests to follow all recommended Government advice and exercise personal responsibility if displaying symptoms, to minimise risks to themselves and others and help reduce the spread of infection.
We will continue with all our infection control measures and Covid secure cleaning between guest stays (see below)and ask guests to use the hand sanitiser on the table inside before entering the cottage.
The cottage sleeps a maximum of 2 adults in one bedroom and will be ready for you from 4pm unless otherwise notified. We will email to confirm the code for the Key Safe to enable you to 'self check in' and access the cottage, together with other helpful information before you arrive. Departure is by 10am. We regret early check ins or later departures will not be possible. By accessing the key for entry to the cottage, you will be confirming that you accept and will abide by all the terms and conditions below. A £75 deposit is required on confirmation of booking for either 1 or 2 adults with the balance one month in advance of your arrival date. If the balance is not received on request, the booking is forfeited, and the deposit non refundable unless we are able to rebook the dates.
We will refund in full if your booking is affected by National Lockdowns or we have to cancel your stay due to any unforeseen circumstances.
Guest cancellations for any other reason remain at your risk, including Covid19, and do not give rise to a right to cancel or to receive a refund unless we are able to rebook the dates. We therefore strongly advise that you take out your own UK holiday insurance, including cover for Covid19, which is available from a number of insurance companies, to cover the cost of your stay in the event of cancellation. If you choose not to take out UK travel insurance, then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to you cancelling your booking. Bookings made through online platforms (AirBnB and VRBO) are subject to their cancellation policies at the time of booking.
Payments can be made either by direct bank transfer (preferred) or by cheque. Details on confirmation of booking.
Dogs may be accepted by prior arrangement at the time of booking and for an additional £25 charge per pet per stay. Please see Terms and Conditions below.
Jack's Cottage is strictly No Smoking. Smoking is not permitted in either the cottage or garden.
Babies in arms welcome, but the stone flagged floors do not make the cottage really suitable for toddlers. A travel cot and high chair are available on request (please bring your own cot bedding).
All bedding and towels and kitchen linens are provided.
Unfortunately it is currently not possible to charge an electric vehicle while staying at Jack's Cottage. Recent legislation requires a dedicated EV circuit and charging point with mandatory safety protocols in place to prevent electrical malfunctions and fire risk. This is not installed at the cottage and an extension cable from the internal domestic socket is not permitted as this is a fire risk and will invalidate our Insurance Cover. Please click here to locate the nearest EV charging points in Buxton.
We cannot accept responsibility for any injury, loss or accidents, personal or otherwise, whilst staying at Jack’s Cottage.
Our website has an SSL certificate and displays the Secure Green Padlock in the address bar allowing you to navigate our site over a secure encrypted connection.
